Driver failing to yield at intersection causes crash in Elkhart County

ABC 57

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash at the intersection of Old C.R. 17 and C.R. 20 around 8:42 a.m. where one driver failed to yield to another at the two-way stop.

Authorities say, at the time of the crash, the weather was clear and the road surface was dry.

A 2018 Mercedes CLA driven by 37-year-old Josie Daniels was stopped in the westbound lane of the intersection and a 2011 Ford Escape driven by a 16-year-old woman from Goshen was stopped in the southbound lane.

Authorities say it was Daniels who failed to yield to the Ford.

Three passengers in the Ford complained of pain and were treated and released at the scene.
