South Bend Police Officer charged for assaulting an arrestee

The Department of Justice says Robert deprived the arrestee the right to be free from the use by unreasonable force by a person acting under color of law.
Robert allegedly assaulted the arrestee on May 30, 2010, causing injury to the arrestee.
It is illegal under federal law for a law enforcement officer to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.
The case was investigated by the South Bend Resident Agency of the FBI and remains ongoing.
