ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Saturday, January 20, 2024
Two separate bands of lake effect continue to drop snow across portions of Michiana, mainly in St. Joseph (MI) and Cass counties. Totals from now will amount to less than an inch for the rest of the night as higher pressure moves in, ending the lake effect snow and dropping temperatures to around 0F. Wind chills will feel closer to -15F overnight, so make sure to bundle up for any weekend plans. The sun briefly returns on Sunday as temps stay in the mid to upper teens the entire day, but more wintry precipitation is in store to start the week. Monday starts off with light snow showers that will have minimal travel impacts in the morning, but high temperatures rise to around the freezing mark, turning the snow to freezing rain Monday afternoon into evening. Expect the greatest impacts during the Tuesday morning commute with slippery surfaces likely across all of Michiana. Temps continue to climb towards 40 by the middle of next week.
Tonight: Windy, partly cloudy skies. Low 1.
Sunday: Partly cloudy. High 19.
Monday: PM freezing rain. High 32.
Tuesday: AM freezing rain/PM rain. High 37.
