UPDATE: Smith has been found dead.
Dawn Marie Smith, 55, was last heard from by phone while near Watervliet and was headed towards Coloma Monday night.
This afternoon, Michigan State Police discovered Smith's van, which had lost a wheel, abandoned along U.S. 12 in Milton Township, Cass County, Michigan.
Michigan State and St. Joseph County police searched the area and located some of Smith's property, and ultimately discovered her body a short time later.
Information related to Smith's cause of death is under investigation by Michigan authorities.
