Woman accidentally shoots herself in the foot

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police were called to a residence on Pleasant Plain Avenue for reports of a shooting Wednesday afternoon.
The victim told police she tripped while carrying her handgun and it discharged.
The victim was shot in the foot.
She was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.
Police said there were no arrests made and no citations issued because the incident was deemed to be accidental.
