The lake effect snow machine will continue to fire tonight through Monday. By Monday morning, 12+” of snow is possible for the lakeshore in Berrien Co., including Benton Harbor. Amounts slack off as you move south and east. A Winter Storm Warning for Berrien Co. goes into effect tonight at 8 for the additional snowfall over the next 36 hours. By Monday afternoon, most of the lake effect snow should finally dissolve away as the winds shift some.
Once we lose the snow, we’ll really notice the bitter temperatures. Highs for the first two days of 2018 will stay in the single digits. We’ll get back to the teens as another system brings more system snow for Wednesday and lake effect Thursday. The 20s could return too by the end of next weekend!
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with lake effect snow. Low of 3.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with lake effect snow. High of 11.
New Year’s Day: Mostly cloudy with a chance of L.E. snow, highs near 7.
Tuesday: Partly sunny. Highs in the upper single digits.
