ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Monday, December 18, 2023
Lake effect snow will continue this evening, with the main band of snow focusing on portions of Cass County in Michigan and Elkhart and LaGrange counties in Indiana. Snow showers will also continue outside of this zone as well. Winds could gust near 40 mph early this evening, which combined with the snow could make travel difficult. There still might be some slick spots for the Tuesday morning commute as well. Snow should start to end early Tuesday morning, setting up partly sunny skies and temperatures just above freezing for tomorrow. Expect lots of melting on Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the 40s and some sunshine. Rain showers will move in on Friday with temperatures well above freezing. Most of the weekend looks dry, but cloudy as highs will finish near 50 on Saturday and Sunday. Rain showers are likely on Christmas Day, and highs will reach the 50s on Christmas in South Bend for the third time in the last five years.
Tonight: Snow showers and breezy. Low 25.
Tomorrow: Partly cloudy. High 34.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High 43.
Thursday: Cloudy skies. High 43.
