Shooting of man and woman near Briarwood Apartments, police investigating

UPDATE: The victims in the shooting have been identified as Jasmin Duff, 21-year-old female, Benton Harbor resident, multiple non-life-threatening injuries. And Demetris Ellis, 25-year-old male, Benton Harbor resident, gunshot wound to the wrist.

A person of interest has been identified but police are not releasing that information to the public.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - Benton Township Police say they responded to a disturbance in front of 1985 Union Ave. early Sunday.

Officials say officers on scene then heard gunshots on the other side of the building.

Officers then located a man and a woman both suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
