Shooting at Beacon Heights apartment complex Thursday evening

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department received a call at 5:03 p.m. for shots fired at the Beacon Heights Apartment Complex at 3401 Ardmore Trail.
When they got there, officers found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the shooting also damaged a power line, leading to a temporary power outage and a response from AEP.
Violent Crimes Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting.
