BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- A sink hole partially swallowed a Berrien RESA bus in Benton Harbor Friday afternoon. The sinkhole is near the intersection of Highland Avenue and Nowlen Street.
Benton Harbor's Mayor Marcus Muhammad posted a picture on Facebook of the bus in the sinkhole.
He said no one was injured.
The mayor said a water main broke under the road, which weakened the roadway, causing the collapse.
City officials said they plan on having the water restored by Saturday morning.
Resident Eula Autry that lives near the broken water main says as far as when his water will be restored it's just a waiting game.
"Well we're just waiting you know the only thing we don't got is just the water cut off, but everything else is good," Autry said.
Emergency funds from the city income tax will be used to repair the street, the mayor said.
