Police respond to a shooting in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Police Department responded to a call of shots fired Thursday morning. The incident happened in the 1100 block of Fremont Street on the west side of South Bend.

The call came in shortly after 11 a.m.

Upon arriving on the scene, officers found a single person wounded by gunfire.

The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing at this time with the South Bend Police Shooting Response Team taking over.
