Police identify man killed in crash at University Drive and Main Street

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Mishawaka Police have identified the man who was killed in a crash at University Drive and Main Street in Mishawaka early Monday morning.
Police said around 1 a.m. the driver, 52-year-old Ronald Wayne Heminger, was traveling southbound on Main when he drove into a vacant lot at the corner of Main and University Drive, crossed both lanes of University and struck a building and utility box in the southeast corner of the intersection.
The crash caused a widespread power outage.
Speed is believed to be a factor but the crash remains under investigation.
