NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s basketball team will play Wednesday night ahead of the end of the regular season.
The team is back at Purcell Pavilion and faces off against Florida State who is ranked 7.
If Notre Dame wins the game they’ll boost their placement in the ACC tournament, which they will need in order to make it to the NCAA tournament.
The Irish suffered a loss on Sunday against Wake Forest but Head Coach Mike Brey says there is still a lot to fight for.
"They've really done some neat stuff to get us in this position from 2 and 6. It would be another step for them to kind of feel good about themselves and feel good and feel like you're getting more confident in March. So it's huge for us,” Coach Mike Brey said.
"Obviously we needed the last one but we are not dead in the water. It's re-grouping and we have a great opportunity Wednesday to get a ranked team here at home,” said Senior Forward John Mooney.
The team has lost against the last 20 ranked teams, so the game could net them some much needed momentum heading into next week.
