Michigan Works! announces free three-week training for CDL-A

BENTON HARBOR, Mich.- Michigan Works! Berrien, Cass, Van Buren, announced they're offering a free three-week training, in partnership with Lake Michigan College and REGEN Trucking School LLC., to help individuals obtain their CDL-A, to start a career as a commercial driver. 

There will be eight cohorts of the CDL-A short-term training program which starts March 11 and ends on June 24.

Organizers state the class is in session five days a week for three weeks at the South Haven Lake Michigan College campus.

After completion of the training, Michigan Works! says their team will connect individuals to employers in southwest Michigan.

To be eligible for this unique training opportunity, individuals must:

*       Be 18 years or older

*       Have earned a High School Diploma or GED

*       Have a Social Security card

*       Have a driver's license or State ID

*       If employed, individuals must submit their last two paystubs
