A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for St. Joseph (IN), LaPorte, Berrien, Cass and Elkhart counties until 7 PM Christmas Day.
Roads are snow covered this morning and slick. Some of the main roads have been cleared but secondary and back roads will be snow covered through most of today. Give yourself plenty of travel time and take it slow. Lake effect snow continues in NW Michiana today with another 1-3” of snow possible in spots. It should remain light but blowing and drifting snow will become problematic.
Lake effect continue tonight but remains light. Lows take a plunge into the single digits so anyone heading out to work Tuesday morning will need to bundle up. Roads could still be slick in spots again tomorrow morning. Skies are mostly cloudy with highs in the low teens. Highs remain in the teens through for the next several days with more snow chances.
Christmas Day: Mostly cloudy and windy with lake effect snow showers. 1-3” possible. High of 22.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with light lake effect snow, low 5.
Tuesday: Mostly to partly cloudy and breezy with a chance of lake effect snow showers mainly in Michigan. Highs in the low teens.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy, slight chance of snow, highs in the low teens.
