Martin's Super Markets acquired by SpartanNash

South Bend based Martin's Super Markets has been acquired by SpartanNash, a company that distributes grocery products and operates retail stores.

Martin's operates 21 stores in northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. It employs approximately 3,500 employees.

The transaction closed on December 31, 2018.
