Man wanted for making explosives transferred to St. Joseph County from Texas
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A wanted La Porte County man who has been accused of making and possessing homemade explosives was transferred the St. Joseph County Jail Wednesday after an early spring arrest in Texas.
County officials say in 2014, Robert Ofcky was allegedly in possession of explosives devices which he made in his home on 7200 block of County Road 125.
La Porte County law enforcement carried out a search warrant at the residence in which Ofcky was no longer in.
After being indicted by a Grand Jury in June of 2014, an arrest warrant was issued and he was apprehended in Texas on March 20th.
According to court documents, he has been charged with two counts of possessing a destructive device, manufacturing of a destructive device, and possession of a firearm.
Ofcky was booking into the SJC without a bond.
