Lakeside Road to be closed temporarily starting January 31

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Lakeside Road will resume being closed temporarily to through traffic between Kruger Road and US12 starting Jan. 31. in order to help crews working near the railroad crossing.

The area closed will between US12 and the railroad tracks along Lakeside Road.

Amtrak staff are working to address the remaining train-related tasks and to ensure safety, the road will remain closed until work is completed.

Authorities are recommending that drivers use the detour of Kruger Road to Basswood Road to US12/Pulaski Highway until Saturday Feb. 2. when the road is estimated to reopen.
