Lake Michigan College hosting Senior Expo May 10

Area Agency on Aging

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Mendal Center at Lake Michigan College will play host to the 26th Annual Senior Expo on Friday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is open to the public and attendees can explore more than 50 local vendors, enjoy entertainment from a variety of local performers, take part in an interactive art piece, and consume refreshments to benefit AAA’s Unmet Needs Fund.

“This event is the largest gathering of seniors in the tri-county area each year,” AAA CEO Christine Vanlandingham said. “It’s an opportunity for people to come together and get connected with the aging services many of us need for ourselves and our families. We are thrilled to be able to offer this incredible event to the community again for the 26th year.”

Organizers say the first 1,000 attendees will receive a Senior Expo tote bag.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office will also be there to collect and dispose of expired and unused drugs, provide information on scams, and shuttle people from their car to the door, if needed.

In a state-wide effort to make Secretary of State services more accessible, the SOS Mobile Office will be at the expo to offer same-day identification cards and other SOS services in person.
