SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Jason Heyward will stay in South Bend for another night. The Chicago Cubs outfielder continued to rehab from a lacerated left hand he suffered a couple weeks ago.
However, mother nature had other ideas and Heyward was removed after three innings when the game between the South Bend Cubs and Lansing Lugnuts was delayed due to rain. Heyward finished 1-1 on the night with a walk, RBI, and run scored.
With the Chicago Cubs having the day off Monday, it made the decision for Heyward pretty easy to come back to South Bend for one more game before joining the big league club.
First pitch of Monday's game is at 7:35 p.m. and will air on WMYS.
