Forest River RV plant destroyed in fire
GOSHEN, Ind. -- A Forest River RV plant on College was heavily damaged by fire Monday evening. Firefighters say some chemicals and adhesives in the building caused explosions as the fire burned.
Firefighters were first called to the scene around 8:30 p.m.
For several hours, thick smoke made it difficult for anyone nearby to see or breathe.
Lippert employees who worked next door said the fire grew quickly.
“At first we weren’t sure the extent of like how big the fire was and what really was on fire and where it was coming from and we found out pretty quickly that it was coming from here, it just got so big so quick it was insane.”
There were no injuries in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A portion of College Avenue remained blocked off Tuesday morning.
