Pedestrian in wheelchair hit and killed in Benton Township

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- On Thursday, Feb. 22, around 10 p.m., Benton Township Officers responded to a fatal accident at the intersection of Milton Avenue and E. Napier Avenue where officers say a pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck and killed.
The 59-year-old Benton Harbor resident was declared deceased by Medic One paramedics at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle is a 57-year-old Benton Harbor resident who is uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.
