DNR investigating after black bear found dead on SR 15

BRISTOL, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will perform a necropsy on a young black bear that was found dead on the side of the road Wednesday morning.
The bear was found in the 51000 block of SR 15 near the entrance to the Toll Road.
The DNR said they will attempt to transport the carcass for necropsy.
There have been no recent black bear sightings in this region of the state.
DNR says it is not the same bear that was roaming in southwestern Indiana. It has moved south into Kentucky.
