Crews put out house fire on South Bend's northwest side

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Firefighters put out a house fire at the corner of Studebaker Street and Fassnacht Avenue on the city’s northwest side Tuesday morning.

The fire was brought under control after crews were dispatched around 6:30 a.m.

Officials say the building was vacant.


No injures were reported.

The fire department estimated the fire caused $10,000 worth of damage.

The fire originated in the front porch on the first floor. The cause is under investigation.
