Rainy and milder to end the week
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police responded to the Oliver Apartments on Indiana Avenue Friday around 9:15 a.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a woman found unresponsive.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was called in to investigate because the death was suspicious.
The apartments house formerly homeless individuals suffering from addiction or mental health disorders. It opened in November 2017.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
The investigation is ongoing.
