Cassopolis home destroyed by fire, no injures

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- No one was injured in a house fire that happened on Dunning Street just outside of Cassopolis Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the home in the 27000 block of Dunning Street around 1:40 p.m.
The resident was lighting a fire in the fireplace and the ashes caught the house on fire, according to reports.
The woman and at least one dog escaped safely.
