California police officer shot and killed

A man accused of shooting and killing a San Jose, California police officer was found dead inside his apartment early Wednesday morning.

News crews from our BC affiliate, KGO, heard flash bangs before entered the apartment of 57-year-old Scott Dunhman just before 3:30 local time.

Around 6:50 Pacific Time, police responded to Dunham's apartment on reports of a suicidal man. That's when police say Dunham opened fire on the officers.

Officer Michael Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to our ABC affiliate, police evacuated the apartments around the suspect's apartment as a precaution.
