Berrien County businesses partner for 2nd annual Animal Adoption Day

BENTON HAROR, Mich. -- Two southwest Michigan businesses, Boss Services and Honor Credit Union are partnering up for the 2nd annual Animal Adoption Day on April 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boss offices in Benton Harbor.

"This year's Animal Adoption Day promises a heartwarming opportunity for families to find their perfect furry companion, with an array of dogs and cats available for adoption from Berrien County Animal Control and the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan," Boss said in a statement. "Thanks to the generous support of event co-sponsor, Honor Credit Union, all adoption fees will be graciously covered."

There will also be food and drink trucks on location as well as an interactive photo booth.

“Honor Credit Union is devoted to bringing our community together, which drives us to collaborate with similar organizations such as Boss Services," said Honor Credit Union Benton Harbor Member Center Manager Dan Stewart. "This pet adoption event is a great way to build stronger communities, support local shelters, and help bring together people and pets who need each other. We look forward to another successful year.”

Both of the sponsoring companies will also have "free swag for all guests."

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Honor Credit Union for our 2nd annual Animal Adoption Day," said Boss owner and proud adopter of two dogs from the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, Jeff Street. "As someone who has personally experienced the joy of adopting a pet, I encourage others to consider opening their hearts and homes to these deserving animals."

Organizers say that last year's Animal Adoption Day saw the successful adoption of nearly 20 cats and dogs, with a goal to surpass that number this year.

Boss Services is located at 2188 M-139 in Benton Harbor. For more information about Animal Adoption Day, contact Boss’ Marketing Manager, Jen Wagner, at 269-468-6682 or email [email protected]
