Ballots yet to be counted due to voting machine fire in Madison Township

ST.JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – According to the Election Committee many ballots have yet to be counted due to a fire at a voting machine.

Election officials say, a small fire broke out at a polling location in Madison Township.

The cause was a short-circuit which created a spark after a memory card was pulled from a voting machine.

The ballots, officials say, have not been damaged in the flames. The ballots were taken by a bi-partisan team to the St. Joseph County City Building where they will be counted.
