SOUTH BEND. Ind. - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are still undefeated, as they came away with a 41-17 victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas today.
The Fighting Irish had another explosive offensive performance, finishing with over 40 points for the fourth-straight game to begin the season.
The duo of running back Audric Estime and quarterback Sam Hartman paid major dividends once again, as they accounted for 506 of Notre Dame's 578 yards on offense. The latter was on fire from the first snap, as he connected with Tobias Merriweather for a 75-yard score on his first pass of the game.
The Chippewas held their own for much of the contest before Notre Dame pulled away in the second half, outscoring Central Michigan 20-3 after the break.
Finally, the Irish's biggest test is on the horizon. They host the sixth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes next week in one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the season.
