SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Today was the last chance to see the international Big Balloon Build in Elkhart, one of only five stops here in the U.S.
Thousands of tickets were sold for the one-of-a-kind experience. More than 80 balloon artists created the interactive exhibit out of more than 125,000 balloons in just four days.
Jennifer Nyikos, owner of Fun by The Yard in South Bend has been working for the past two years to bring the event to Elkhart.
Balloon displays were crafted with a carnival theme in mind, and included a hippo walking a tightrope, a giant ferris wheel, ducks swimming in a pool and a carousel filled with balloon animals.
There were also carnival games for kids, like Skee-Ball and basketball free throws.
All proceeds from the unique event will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana, which provides accommodations for families with sick and injured children.
