SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Today Congressman Rudy Yakym hosted the 2024 Congressional Art Competition reception at the South Bend International Airport where he awarded young, local artists for their talents.
Nina Foresman from John Glenn High School was congratulated for her first-place finish and her work will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year alongside other winners from across the country.
The Congressional Art Competition began back in 1982 for members of Congress to recognize the artistic talents of high school students in their districts.
Since then, more than 650,000 high school students have been involved in the nationwide competition.
