Woman driving to South Bend allegedly found with over 200 grams of meth

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind.—A woman from Mt. Vernon, Illinois was arrested outside of Indianapolis after a traffic stop led to the confiscation of over 200 grams of methamphetamine.

Indiana State Police say Mindy Wilson, 35, was observed following another vehicle too closely on I-70 Friday afternoon.

During the traffic stop, a trooper discovered roughly $4,500 worth of methamphetamine or 221 grams.

State Police say Wilson was headed to South Bend.

It was also discovered that the Ford Fusion Wilson was driving had been reported stolen earlier Friday morning in Jefferson County, Illinois.

The trooper took Wilson to the Putnam County Jail for:

  • Following too close
  • Vehicle Theft – level 6 felony
  • Possession of Methamphetamine –  level 3 felony
  • Dealing Methamphetamine – level 2 felony
