Victim identified in fatal Weesaw Township crash

WEESAW TWP, Mich. – The victim in a deadly crash was identified Thursday.
Responders were dispatched to a vehicle crash on Elm Valley Rd near Boyle Lake Rd in Weesaw Twp. Just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Officers arrived to see a Jeep station wagon had crashed into a tree just off the roadway.
The driver was found dead at the scene.
He was identified as Jack Lee Phillippi, 84, from Galien, Mich.
Phillippi was wearing his seatbelt and weather does not appear to be a factor, according to investigators.
The Weesaw Township Fire Department and Buchanan Two Fire Department assisted in this case.
The crash is currently under further investigation.
