SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United Religious Community of St. Joseph County held its annual Prayer Breakfast on Thursday.
The breakfast was held at the Century Center and had a variety of faiths provide a prayer in their own traditions and words.
This event was held on the National Day of Prayer and it welcomed Dr. David Carlson, Professor of Theology and Religion at Franklin College, to speak.
“Interfaith is not diluting your faith, it’s not saying I believe in my faith less, what we find over time is when I’m with someone from another faith, who truly loves god through that faith, it strengthens my love of god through my faith,” Dr. Carlson said.
A litany of prayers was offered from Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Bahai, Sikh and Buddhist leaders during the event.
