Power restored to most customers in Michiana following Monday's storms

Indiana Michigan Power crews are working to restore power to customers across Michiana following Monday’s storms.

In total, nearly 52,000 customers in I&M’s service territory lost power due to Monday’s storms.

As of Thursday morning, I&M said that 98% of affected customers had their power restored and hundreds of power line professionals continue to work in the area to repair damage done during the storms. 

Most of the damage was caused by strong winds blowing trees and branches into equipment.

  • Berrien County 561
  • Cass County 8
  • St. Joseph County (MI) 5
  • Van Buren County 56

Estimated times of restoration as of 9 a.m. on Thursday:

  • Benton Harbor area: 11 p.m. Friday
