Teen connected to shots fired incident after getting off bus ordered to Department of Correction facility

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A juvenile who was arrested following a shots fired incident near a South Bend school bus in August was ordered to an Indiana Department of Correction facility on September 27, according to a Dispositional Order by the St. Joseph Probate Court.

The juvenile admitted to the charge of dangerous possession of a firearm in connection with the incident, according to reports.

The order states that a number of efforts were taken to prevent sending the juvenile to the Department of Correction facility but ultimately, those efforts didn't work.

The student committed a new delinquent act and continues to engage in violent behavior, according to documents in the case.

He allegedly committed the same offense in Lake County.

The juvenile will be taken to a facility for children.

After his release, the juvenile will be put on probation and must complete a Community Transition Program through St. Joseph County Juvenile Community Corrections.
