Suspected illegal drugs, over $16,000 found in vehicle in Plymouth

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – A Muncie man was arrested on Thursday after deputies found suspected illegal drugs and over $16,000 in a vehicle he was driving, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported.

At 9:30 p.m., deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 12th Road where Peach Road meets Pear Road in Plymouth.

During the traffic stop, K9 Officer Diesel was deployed and alerted deputies to the smell of narcotics in the vehicle, reports said.

While searching the vehicle, deputies found suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and over $16,000 suspected to be involved in the sale, delivery, or financing the delivery of illegal drugs, reports said.

The driver, identified as 50-year-old Lawrence Gannom, was operating the vehicle with a license status of suspended – prior, deputies said.

Lawrence was arrested for the following, according to deputies:

  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug
  • Driving while suspended – prior
