St. Joseph County Prosecutor charged with driving under the influence

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- Michigan's attorney general has filed charges against the St. Joseph County Prosecuting Attorney in connection with a crash that happened on May 11. John Lawrence McDonough has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and having open intoxicants inside a motor vehicle.

McDonough waived arraignment on the charges.

On May 11, McDonough was driving in Lockport Township when his vehicle crossed the center line, veered off the road and crashed into a fence, according to the attorney general's office.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash and the charges were filed by the attorney general.
