St. Joseph County issues new health order, extends use of facial coverings

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Health Department has issued a new public health order that runs through the end of May due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, the number of new cases and the prevalence of variants.

The order requires businesses to provide hand sanitizer to be readily accessible at the entrance and at high-touch surfaces.

Masks that fit over your nose and mouth will be worn when entering an enclosed public space or enclosed place of business, unless there are health reasons that prevent the use of a mask.

The health order will be effective April 1 through May 27, but it will not be renewed, revised or extended beyond that date.
