SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Fire Department will be presented a $24,945 grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation at 9:30 a.m. on August 23rd at 5716 Grape Road in Mishawaka.
The award has allowed new gear to be purchased for the Swift Water Rescue Team, such as flotation vests and dry suits.
“Our team members are exposed to a variety of elements and dangers during water operations, and this grant offers our members better protection in our operational environment, and we are grateful to Firehouse Subs,” Battalion Chief Chris Baker said.
