South Bend announces traffic alerts beginning May 10

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The City of South Bend Department of Public Works has announced a number of traffic alerts starting on Monday, May 10.

North Shore Drive

• Begins Monday, May 10
• Closed from Parkovash to Iroquois Street for riverbank stabilization work
• Detour routes on Michigan Street or Angela Boulevard
• Set to reopen on Thursday, June 24, weather permitting

Northside Boulevard

• Begins Tuesday, May 11
• Closed at Clover Street to replace a throttle pipe in the combined sewer overflow manhole in the area
• Detour routes on Beyer and 20th streets via Mishawaka Avenue
• Set to reopen Friday, May 28, weather permitting

Riverside Drive

• Begins Tuesday, May 11
• Closed from Hudson Avenue to California Street to clean sanitary sewer and storm lines
• Detour routes on California Street and Hudson Avenue via Portage Avenue
• Closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily through Thursday, May 13, weather permitting
