SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend Animal Care and Control (SBACC) held orientation for volunteers who want to provide care for animals and make an impact in the community.
Volunteer duties include walking dogs and socializing with cats.
The SBACC is also looking for videographers and graphic designers.
Jenn Gobbel, a manager at SBACC, discussed the importance of providing resources for animal care.
“We’re more of a resource center for people to realize that there’s a lot of help out there, whether it’s for vet care, medical needs, spay and neutering, low cost vaccinations,” Gobbel said. “We work and partner with a lot of different resources and agencies in the area to provide that for the residents.”
There have been talks about the organization changing their name to the Animal Resource Center.
If you did not attend their orientation, you can still sign up to volunteer by filling out an application found on the city’s website.
