Shooting reported Sunday afternoon was accidental

South Bend Police say a shooting that was reported in the 200 block of Iowa Street Sunday afternoon was accidental.

Police said it was an accidental self-inflicted shooting.

The woman was transported privately to the hospital with a wound to the abdomen, police said.

She remains hospitalized in serious condition. Her injury is not believed to be life threatening.
