Search for missing swimmer continues at North Beach

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. -- South Haven Area Emergency Services resumed their search for a missing swimmer at North Beach Monday morning, according to a Facebook post.

First responders were notified at 9:20 p.m. Sunday about a man missing near the mid-point of the North Beach.

There were dangerous rip currents at the time.

Red flags were flying and waves were reaching 5-6 feet.

South Haven Emergency Services and South Haven Police searched the water from the shoreline and with a drone past midnight.

A Coast Guard helicopter and the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office's marine and dive team also responded to assist.
