Rennsselaer Disaster Recovery Center opens for flood survivors

RENSSELAER, Ind. – A Disaster Recovery Center will be opening in Rensselaer to help flood survivors in Pulaski, Jasper and White counties who have damage from February's flooding.

The DRC will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Survivors may locate open DRC’s near them by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362, (TTY) 800-462-7585. Helpline numbers are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. You can also download the FEMA app.

Recovery specialists from the State of Indiana, U.S Small Business Admisistration and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be providing service to those filling out their applications and updating their status.

The DRC is located at 1060 W Clark in Rennselaer, Indiana.

Registration is the first step in the recovery process and survivors are encouraged to register before visiting a DRC.

FEMA grants do not have to be repaid, assistance is nontaxable and will not affect eligibility for Social Security, Medicaid or other federal benefits.
