ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—One of three men charged in the October 2016 murder of Tyler Hurtle has been sentenced to 92 years in prison.

Presley Brown, 26, was sentenced on Friday to 60 years for murder and 12 years for attempted armed robbery. He was also sentenced to an additional 20 years for a firearm sentencing enhancement for an aggregate sentence of 92 years.

Two other individuals are charged in connection with Hurtle’s murder.

Sir Jackquarius JaQuan Lloyd was sentenced to 87 years in prison on April 13, 2018. He was found guilty of murder, felony murder, attempted armed robbery and firearm sentencing enhancement on March 9, 2018.

Caleb Smith, 25, pleaded guilty per an agreement on July 23, 2019 to attempted armed robbery. Sentencing for Smith is scheduled for October 17.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the murder of Hurtle, then 20, was a botched robbery attempt. It occurred on October 6, 2016 at a home in the 4000 block of Meadow Lane in South Bend.
