Potawatomi Zoo hosts Roars, Pours Family Nights

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Lions, tigers and beers, oh my!

The Potawatomi Zoo is hosting a series of Roars & Pours Family Nights beginning April 26.

These events will have tasting options for attendees aged 21 and older as well as special non-alcoholic drinks for guests.

The after-hours series will take place on April 26, May 11, June 13, July 11, Aug. 23 and Oct. 3 from 5:30 – 8 p.m.

“After several successful Roars & Pours events last year, we are thrilled to continue offering these after-hours events, “said Connie Varga, Event Manager at the Potawatomi Zoo.

The cost of admission is free for children under age two and 2019 Round Barn season pass holders. Admission is $1 for children ages three to fourteen and $5 for guests 15-years-old or older.

Pre-sale tickets are available at any area Martin’s Supermarket as well as the zoo’s admission booth.

Round Barn Winery and Brewery’s partnership with the zoo will be the focus of the Family Night on April 26.

“Each Roars & Pours Family Night will have a unique theme or activity because we want to give people a really special zoo experience in the evening for a discount, “said Varga.

There will be several adult tasting stations set up with wine, sangria and beer samples from Round Barn.

At the Otter Outpost and Round Barn Bar, full-size drinks will be available for purchase.

Build-your-own non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased at a booth located in front of the leopard viewing area and Congo Café will have a full menu for guests.

Additional details on the Roars & Pours Family Night series can be found on the zoo’s website.
