Police provide more information on vehicle in fatal hit and run

Benton Township Police have further narrowed down the make and model of vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run involving a pedestrian that happened late Saturday evening.

Just before midnight, police were dispatched to the 1300 block of E. Empire for a hit and run crash.

A witness told police Michael Swanigan was traveling east on Empire in the westbound lane in his motorized wheelchair when a vehicle traveling west struck Swanigan and fled the scene.

Police believe the vehicle is a 2008-2012 Chevy Malibu LT or LTZ.
