Pet Refuge Holds Super Adoption

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Dogs, cats and kittens...Oh my.

It was a zoo in downtown South Bend Saturday for the first annual "Super Adoption"  June 16th.

Local animal groups came together to find animals a home.

Today was the largest collaborative adoption event ever held in Michiana.

Their goal June 16th was to have one hundred animals adopted.

"Our shelters and our rescues are over-crowded. We have an over-population situation here in michiana and you know, we need to work very hard to find homes for the animals that do end up in our shelters and with our rescues." said Pam Comer, the president of Pet Refuge.

Organizers say the event was more success than they thought and hope to have even more animals adopted next year,
